Alyaksandr Lukashenka on Tuesday received Prime Minister Alyaksandr Turchyn for a briefing. The report focused on Lukashenka’s upcoming visit to Moscow and a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“In the near future, a meeting between the head of our state and the president of the Russian Federation is expected. Just yesterday, I held a conversation with my colleague — Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin. Among other things, we discussed the possible agenda for the meeting of our leaders, our joint projects and further steps, including within the framework of the Union State. In the next few days, we will prepare information for the head of state for his conversation with Vladimir Putin. This was the main topic of my report to the head of state,” Turchyn said, as reported by BelTA.
In addition, the briefing covered “current issues, including those related to the country’s socio-economic development.”
The prime minister also recalled that the briefing followed a meeting with Lukashenka. According to Turchyn, the discussion went beyond the documents submitted for consideration and addressed the overall state of economic sectors.
It should be recalled that the Belarusian government’s press service reported the previous day that Turchyn and Mishustin had discussed Belarusian-Russian trade, economic, scientific and technological cooperation and agreed to intensify integration within the Union State and the Eurasian Economic Union, as well as the implementation of major joint economic projects.
Alyaksandr Lukashenka is due to travel to Moscow at the end of the week. He will attend the May 9 parade.
