Musicians from the Belarusian group Kasary appear in the third season of the popular Polish satirical series “1670.” The members of the male vocal ensemble, led by Siarzhuk Douhushau, portray colorful Cossacks in the hit Netflix series.
“For this, I had to make sacrifices and shave off the moustache and beard that I had worn for literally half my life,” musician Aliaksandr Drahavoz wrote on social media, sharing details of the filming.
In the series, the Belarusians, portraying Cossacks, sing and play a giant drum.
“It was one of the most enjoyable adventures of last summer,” Aliaksandr shared.
The musicians appear in the second episode of the season, performing a song in Polish.
“1670” is one of Netflix’s most successful Polish productions in the mockumentary satirical comedy genre. The series humorously depicts the lives of nobles and peasants in the 17th-century Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth while parodying contemporary social issues. The third season premiered on Aug. 5.
