The head of the United Transitional Cabinet, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, outlined plans for 2026 during hearings at the Coordinating Council.
According to Tsikhanouskaya, she will continue her work while being based in Poland, while the office in Vilnius will maintain its operations and diplomatic accreditation. The politician noted that her presence in Warsaw will be useful both for engagement with the Polish authorities and for supporting the Belarusian diaspora.
“We plan to open an office in Warsaw. And, as you already know, I will continue my work while being based here, in Poland. At the same time, the office in Vilnius will continue its activities and retain its diplomatic accreditation,” the politician said.
Tsikhanouskaya said that over the past few days she had held meetings in Warsaw with a number of Belarusian organizations and initiatives, during which joint projects and events were agreed, and a work plan for the next six months was formed.
“This year I will strive to devote more time directly to Belarusians and Belarusian initiatives. I expect that my presence in Warsaw will be useful both for closer contacts with the Polish authorities and for the Belarusian diaspora. I want to emphasize that this expansion will not harm our work, our plans, or our relations with our partners. On the contrary, it may strengthen all of this,” she said.
Tsikhanouskaya also spoke about preparations for a number of international events and contacts, including a visit to Kyiv, meetings with European Union structures and the Council of Europe contact group, strategic consultations with the United Kingdom and the United States in March, as well as the organization of the Conference of Belarusians of the World, congresses in support of political prisoners, a meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Alliance in London, and a conference dedicated to youth, together with Sweden.
