Tsikhanouskaya Office Discusses Details of New Security System With Lithuania, LRT Reports

The Office of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya is discussing the details of a new security system with Lithuania. For now, work is continuing as usual. This is how LRT commented on reports about Tsikhanouskaya’s security being transferred to the Lithuanian police, according to her adviser Dzianis Kuchynski.

“As we have said before, we are currently discussing with the Lithuanian side further formats and details of the new security system in Lithuania. Only after all the details are clear will we make further decisions. The work of S. Tsikhanouskaya and the United Transitional Cabinet in Lithuania is continuing as usual,” Lithuanian television quoted him as saying.

Kuchynski was also asked when exactly the office might make a decision and whether timeframes had been discussed for Lithuania to provide a security plan. He replied: “In the near future.”

“For now, we are not disclosing specific security details for safety reasons. When Tsikhanouskaya is outside Lithuania, her security is handled by the security services of other countries — at the level of head of government or head of state, in accordance with existing norms and protocols,” he said.
