The traffic police will step up controls over the long weekend, the Interior Ministry’s press service said.
“With the participation of patrol units from the Strela special traffic police unit of the Interior Ministry, рейдовые мероприятия have been organised on high-risk road sections in the Vitsyebsk and Minsk regions. Inspectors will monitor compliance with traffic regulations by all road users”, the statement said.
The ministry also reminded drivers of the strict ban on operating vehicles after consuming alcohol, and urged pedestrians to walk along the roadside facing oncoming traffic and to use reflectors in the dark.
