Thunderstorms, Heavy Rain and Hail: Orange Weather Alert Issued for Thursday

Forecasters have issued an orange weather alert for Thursday. Thunderstorms, heavy rain and hail are expected.

“On May 21 (Thursday), thunderstorms are expected across most of the country, with locally heavy downpours and squally winds with gusts of 15–20 m/s during thunderstorms, and hail during daytime hours. Thunderstorms are expected in Minsk, with locally heavy downpours in the city during the day. In the eastern part of the country, daytime maximum temperatures will reach +30 to +31°C”, the warning said.

Tomorrow, weather conditions in Belarus will continue to be influenced by an atmospheric front, while warm and humid air will persist in eastern areas. Cloudy conditions with sunny intervals are expected. Minimum overnight temperatures will range from +10°C to +16°C, while daytime highs will range from +18°C in the north-west to +31°C in the east.
