Russia expects a visit in the near future by US presidential envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. Russian media reported this today, citing Russian presidential investment envoy Kirill Dmitriev and presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.
The purpose of the visit has not been disclosed. Witkoff and Kushner are acting as negotiators on behalf of the United States both on bilateral issues in relations with Russia and as part of Washington’s efforts to end the Russian-Ukrainian war.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Witkoff and Kushner might first visit Kyiv and then Moscow in order to resume the negotiation process, which had been put on hold after the start of the operation against Iran.
