Three Polish Priests Denied Extension of Ministry in Viciebsk Diocese

Three Polish Catholic priests will be forced to leave Belarus after the Commissioner for Religious and Ethnic Affairs refused to extend their permits for religious activity. As reported by “Khrystsiyanskaya Vizija,” they must leave the country as early as May 2026.

The priests are Salvatorian Reverend Stanisław Mżygłud, a long-serving parish priest of the Nativity of the Mother of God parish in Braslaw, Saletian Reverend Zenon Ścionhor, who has served in Belarus for more than 35 years and until recently held the position of vicar of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary parish in Vidzy, Braslaw District, and Franciscan Father Waldemar Kujawa, vicar of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary parish in the village of Udelo, Hlybokaye District.

At the same time, some other Polish priests have received permission to extend their ministry in the Viciebsk diocese for the next six months, the outlet notes.

It was previously reported that two Polish priests of the Pinsk diocese were also denied permission for further ministry and have left Belarus.
