Tax Authorities Catch Realtors Hiding Revenue

Tax authorities have uncovered a real estate agency that concealed revenue. The scheme was identified during an unscheduled inspection. It had been operating between 2020 and 2025.

According to the Tax Ministry’s press service, shortly before a deal was concluded and registered with the Bureau for State Registration and Land Cadastre, company employees would offer clients the option of terminating the contract and paying for services in cash. The realtors would still complete the transaction, while clients received a discount of $100-200 for paying in cash.

According to the ministry, the concealed revenue amounted to 1.4 million roubles. The money was later paid to employees as part of their salaries, on which no income tax was paid.

“As a result of the inspection, including other violations, the company has been ordered to pay 0.8 million roubles in taxes. In addition, the company will be held administratively liable for underpaying taxes, while a criminal case has been opened against its officials under Part 1 of Article 243-1 of the Criminal Code”, the ministry said.
