Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said that the Ukrainian side supports a meeting between Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Vladimir Putin. Kyiv has even approached a number of capitals with a request to organize such a meeting, but Minsk is not among them.
“We asked the Turkish side about this, and we also asked certain other capitals. We approached Turkey directly. But if another capital, apart from Moscow and Belarus, organizes such a meeting, we will go. And this is important for us”, Sybiha said, as quoted by Interfax-Ukraine.
According to him, the Ukrainian side supports such a meeting in order to “obtain new diplomatic momentum”.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had previously also suggested the possibility of a meeting with Putin, but ruled out holding such talks in Russia or Belarus.
