“Sounds of Explosions and Gunfire”: Baranavichy to Hold Riot Suppression Exercises

Tactical exercises aimed at coordinating forces and resources for the suppression of mass unrest will take place in Baranavichy on June 4, the Brest Regional Executive Committee’s Internal Affairs Directorate reported.

Traffic restrictions will be in place on Zhukava Street between Kukonenka Street and Savetski Avenue, and the car park near the Ice Palace will be closed. Special vehicles with sirens and flashing lights may also be operating in the area.

One stage of the exercises will take place on the grounds of the Ice Palace on Savetski Avenue. People near the facility may hear sounds resembling explosions and gunfire.

“There is no need to worry,” the Internal Affairs Directorate said.
