Belarus has begun supplying fuel to Kyrgyzstan, according to Altynbek Rysbekov, the country’s energy minister.
“The first shipments of fuel and lubricants from Belarus have already arrived in Kyrgyzstan, while several more railway wagons are currently en route,” he said.
According to Reporter.kg, Kyrgyzstan has signed an agreement with Belarus to import fuel, while transit through Russian territory has already been arranged.
Kyrgyzstan will also import fuel from China and Uzbekistan.
The deliveries from Belarus began ahead of the official visit to Kyrgyzstan by Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Ryzhankou. He is due to visit the country on 22–23 July at the invitation of Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubayev.
