Share of Belarusian Goods in Trade Declines Compared With Last Year

The share of Belarusian goods in trade increased in the third quarter. According to Belstat, it reached 54.9% in January–September, up 0.3 percentage points from January–June. However, compared with the same period last year, the share of Belarusian goods fell by 2.8 percentage points.

In the structure of food sales, domestically produced goods accounted for 76.2% in January–September, up 0.4 percentage points from January–July. Compared with the first three quarters of 2024, this represents a decrease of 0.9 percentage points.

The share of Belarusian non-food goods in sales stood at 35.1% in January–September, rising by 0.7 percentage points compared with the first half of the year. However, compared with last year, the share of Belarusian non-food products fell by 3.2 percentage points.

Belstat also provided data for specific categories. All eggs sold in Belarus were domestically produced. Belarusian-made products accounted for more than 99% of butter, meat, and sugar sales. Belarusian cheeses represented 95.3% of the market, and Belarusian vegetables — 71.8%.

Meanwhile, 85.9% of vegetable oil, 85.5% of fruit, 59.7% of cereals, 54.4% of fish and seafood, and 39.3% of pasta sold in Belarus were imported.
