Tatyana Moskalkova, Russia’s human rights ombudswoman, thanked Belarus for its “concrete actions” during prisoner-of-war exchanges between Ukraine and Russia. She made the statement during a meeting with Vladimir Putin on May 12, according to the Kremlin press service.
“But I would especially like to express words of gratitude to our Belarusian brothers. These events are taking place today on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border, but it is not just that a venue has been provided and an atmosphere and conditions created — there are also sometimes concrete actions that help us,” Moskalkova said.
Prisoner exchanges between Ukraine and Russia are usually held at the Novaya Huta checkpoint on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border.
