The Kamenny Loh checkpoint on the Belarusian-Lithuanian border will be reconstructed. Work will begin this year. Customs and border controls for freight trains will be carried out at the Gudogai railway station, the State Customs Committee reports.
Representatives of the State Customs Committee, the State Border Committee, Belarusian Railways and the Ostrovets District Executive Committee held a meeting today to discuss preparations of the station’s infrastructure for the inspection of freight trains. Currently, only passenger trains undergo border and customs controls in Gudogai.
State Customs Committee representatives also inspected the Kamenny Loh checkpoint. It is the only checkpoint on the border with the European Union whose infrastructure has not been upgraded for more than 20 years. Following the reconstruction, the checkpoint’s capacity is expected to triple.
