Worker Dies During Peat Harvesting in Talachyn District

A worker was killed during peat harvesting in the Talachyn district, the State Forensic Examination Committee reports.

In early August, an excavator operator was working at a peat harvesting site. At one point, the excavator drove into a ditch, overturned and crushed the worker. The man died.

A forensic medical examination established that the cause of death was mechanical asphyxia resulting from compression of the chest and abdomen.
