Rossotrudnichestvo, through its “Russian Houses” in various Belarusian cities, distributed 1,500 backpacks with school supplies to Belarusian first-graders.
The “Let’s Go! For Knowledge” campaign was held with the support of the Belarusian Red Cross. By September 1, schoolchildren in Minsk, Hrodna, Mahiliou, Homiel, Brest, Zhlobin, Mazyr, Rechytsa and other cities had received the backpacks.
The backpacks feature a cosmonaut with two flags — the Belarusian red-and-green flag and the Russian tricolor — as well as Yuri Gagarin, a rocket, planets and other space-themed imagery. Each backpack has a “Russia Is With You” keychain attached to it.
As the “Russian House” in Minsk reported, the backpacks were given to orphans, children from low-income families, children in difficult life situations or socially dangerous situations, as well as children with disabilities and developmental differences.
