Russia and Ukraine conduct diplomatic correspondence through Minsk. Alexey Polishchuk, director of the Second CIS Department at Russia’s Foreign Ministry, told RIA Novosti.
“On legal and consular matters, diplomatic correspondence is conducted mainly through Minsk, where the Embassy of Ukraine operates”, he said.
He also thanked the Belarusian side for facilitating these contacts.
A year earlier, in April, Polishchuk had already made similar statements. At the time, he said that Minsk hosted “a channel for diplomatic note exchanges, mainly on legal and consular matters”.
