Website “Human Rights Defenders Against Torture” Added to List of “Extremist Materials”

The Information Ministry has expanded its list of “extremist materials”.

By decision of the Lenin District Court of Brest, the website “Human Rights Defenders Against Torture” (protivpytok.org) was added to the list. However, its name was misspelled in the register as “Prozashchitnik Against Torture”.

In addition, the following were added to the list:

• Facebook groups “Belaruskiya Zyalyonyya – BPZ”, “Vesna Books/Viasna Publishing House”
• the Instagram account “freeebelarus” together with its logo, described as “two holding hands, one coloured white-red-white and the other yellow-blue, next to which are depicted the ‘Pahonia’ coat of arms and the ‘Tryzub’ (Coat of Arms of Ukraine), above which appears the inscription ‘RUZZKIY MIR IDZI NAKH**’ (the last word reproduced in a limited form) on a black background”; the Threads account “andrey_tkachov (Andrey Tkachov | Health Coach)”
• the VKontakte account ecology_svietlahorsk.
