Russian Foreign Ministry Appoints New Consul General in Hrodna

Andrey Varlamov has been appointed Consul General of Russia in Hrodna. The corresponding order was signed by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He replaces Feodosiy Vladyshevsky.

Varlamov has served in the diplomatic corps since 1997 and has held various positions in the central office of the Russian foreign ministry and abroad.

From 2014 to 2017 he worked as consul-counsellor at the Russian Consulate General in San Francisco (United States), and from 2018 to 2023 he headed the Russian Consulate General in Khujand (Tajikistan). From 2023 to 2025 he served as a department head in the Consular Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The Russian Consulate General opened in Hrodna in late 2022 on Tsehlyanaya Street. It later moved to a building confiscated from the Polish minority at 40 Haradnichanskaya Street.
