The Belarusian government has decided to establish mobile working groups to identify and address factors in the regions that could limit or slow the 2026 harvest campaign.
The issue of the mobile groups was discussed today at a working meeting between the prime minister and the leadership of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the State Control Committee and other state bodies.
The mobile groups have been tasked not with inspecting the harvest campaign but with making оперативные decisions to ensure a high pace of harvesting.
“The mobile groups will focus in particular on equipment breakdowns and prompt repairs, the availability of a sufficient number of machinery operators in line with the workload, uninterrupted fuel supplies, compliance with labour and production discipline, and ensuring effective interagency coordination at both the regional and national levels.”, the government’s press service said.
Organisational arrangements for the mobile groups are expected to be completed within two days. They are due to begin work by the end of the week.
On July 21, Aliaksandr Lukashenka held a nationwide conference call devoted to the harvest campaign. He called for strict discipline, measures to combat fuel theft, and for everyone who performs poorly at work to be sent to the army.
