A fundraiser has been launched to organise a farewell ceremony for Sviatlana Kurs. A public memorial ceremony is planned in Warsaw.
Her family wishes to give a dignified farewell to someone who devoted her entire life to the Belarusian language, literature and journalism.
The exact time and location will be announced separately by the family. After the ceremony, Sviatlana’s body is to be transported to Belarus, the necessary documents completed, and she will be buried in her homeland.
To make this possible, the family has already had to take out a loan. The fundraiser has been launched specifically to repay that loan.
