Russian Defense Ministry Confirms Strikes on Ukraine With Oreshnik, Iskander, Kinzhal and Zircon Missiles

The Russian Defense Ministry has confirmed carrying out a massive strike on Ukrainian territory using Oreshnik ballistic missiles, Iskander aeroballistic missiles, Kinzhal hypersonic aeroballistic missiles, Zircon cruise missiles, air-, sea- and ground-launched cruise missiles, as well as attack drones.

According to the Russian side, the strike targeted “military command facilities, air bases and enterprises of Ukraine’s defense-industrial complex.”

Earlier, Ukrainian authorities reported that Russia launched a massive combined strike on Ukraine during the night of May 24. Kyiv was the main target of the attack. Ukraine’s Air Force recorded 690 aerial attack weapons — 90 missiles and 600 drones of various types. Residential buildings, schools, supermarkets, shopping centers and non-residential structures were reported damaged. There were civilian casualties.

“Putin can no longer even properly pronounce the word ‘hurrah’ — he mumbles — yet he still destroys residential buildings with his missiles. Three Russian missiles against a water supply facility, he burned down a market, damaged dozens of residential buildings and several ordinary schools. He launched his Oreshnik against Bila Tserkva. Truly insane people,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a video address.
