Belarusian customs officers in Hrodna intercepted 2 kg of the psychotropic substance alpha-PVP at the border with Lithuania.
A Russian citizen attempted to transport the banned substance through the Benyakoni border checkpoint. When scanning the man’s luggage, customs officers noticed foreign objects inside a sound system. Six packages containing a crystalline substance were eventually removed from a speaker. Experts identified it as alpha-PVP.
“The man said he did not know what was inside the speaker and had agreed to transport it to Moscow in exchange for payment”, the State Customs Committee said.
Belarusian customs officers passed the information to their Russian counterparts. The recipient of the package was identified as a 44-year-old Russian citizen.
“A criminal case was opened against her under Part 2 of Article 328-1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus”, the State Customs Committee said.
