Russia attacked Kyiv with drones and missiles after a three-day pause linked to the visit of U.S. President’s envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
Two people were killed and 10 injured in the Russian attack.
According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, a 26-story non-residential building in the Holosiivskyi district was hit, with structural elements destroyed on the 23rd floor. Elsewhere, a fire engulfed garages and spread to a non-residential building and a business center.
A fire broke out at warehouses in the Podilskyi district. In two other cases, rescuers evacuated people who had been trapped in buildings due to the aftermath of the explosions.
Damage and casualties have also been reported in Kyiv region.
Amid the Russian attack, Poland raised its air defense readiness and scrambled fighter jets. In addition, residents of regions bordering Ukraine were sent warnings about a possible threat.
