Belarus and Russia have reached agreements on gas supplies that are no worse than those in place before 2026, Belarus’s ambassador to Russia Alyaksandr Ragozhnik said.
“Agreements have been reached, and the agreement is currently at the signing stage. But I can say one thing: the agreements reached by the presidents are no worse than the conditions that were in effect before 2026,” he said on the First Information television channel, speaking about a working meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Viktar Karankevich and Vladimir Maiorov, director general of Gazprom Transgaz Belarus, with Aleksei Miller, head of Gazprom.
According to Rogozhnik, a sharp increase in tariffs is not expected.
“Therefore, no sharp rise in tariffs is expected, of course. We agreed that economic entities here will operate under conditions that are sufficiently comfortable for them,” he said.
The meeting between Karankevich and Miller took place on December 30. The sides discussed current issues of cooperation and prospects for its development.
