Political Prisoner Valyantsina Naumava Faces New Charges

Political prisoner Valyantsina Naumava from Hrodna, who was arrested in the autumn of 2025, was charged on February 27 under additional articles of the Criminal Code.

According to Hrodna Human Rights Center, she is now accused of complicity in a crime, incitement of social hatred by a group of persons, assisting extremist activity, including repeated offenses, as well as defamation of Alyaksandr Lukashenka.

Valyantsina Naumava was detained on September 5, 2025. Initially, she had been charged only under the article on defamation of Alyaksandr Lukashenka.

Naumava was a member of the left-wing party “Spravedlivy Mir.” In 2017 she was fined under an administrative case for participating in the so-called “anti-parasite” protest, receiving a penalty of 15 base units.
