The Polish citizen was crossing the border by car through the red channel designated for declaring a vehicle. During an inspection, officers found a marijuana joint among his personal belongings.

Two other individuals were detained while travelling on scheduled buses. In the first case, marijuana was found in a smoking device belonging to a 47-year-old man. In the second, a 20-year-old bus passenger concealed a container with marijuana in his underwear, the State Customs Committee reported.

Criminal cases have been opened under Part 1 of Article 328-1 of the Criminal Code (“Illegal movement of narcotic drugs across the border”). The offence carries a penalty of up to seven years’ imprisonment.
