Polish Border Guards Find 42 kg of Mephedrone in Car With Belarusian Plates

Polish border guards and customs officers found 42 kilograms of mephedrone in a car in Podlaskie Voivodeship. The driver refused to give explanations.

On January 26, customs and border service officers inspected a passenger car with Belarusian licence plates. During a detailed search, 40 packages containing a crystalline substance were found in hidden compartments in the front wheel arch. An expert examination confirmed that the substance was mephedrone, Poland’s National Revenue Administration reported.

In total, 42 kilograms of mephedrone were seized. Its market value is estimated at 2.5 million zlotys (about $700,000). The driver of the vehicle, a 29-year-old Polish citizen, refused to provide any explanations. He was remanded in custody for three months.
