Poland Reports Drone Activity on the Border With Belarus

Heightened activity of small unmanned aerial vehicles was recorded on the Polish-Belarusian border on the evening of Jan. 21.

According to the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces, the drone flights in the border area were continuously monitored by military radar systems. No threat to the security of the country’s airspace was detected.

The command stressed that such incidents are viewed as elements of hybrid actions by Belarus aimed at destabilizing the security situation and testing the effectiveness of Poland’s air defense system.

The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces, together with subordinate forces and assets, is continuously monitoring the situation on the country’s eastern border and remains on constant readiness to ensure the security of Poland’s airspace, the press release said.
