Ryzhankou Discusses Cooperation With Iran

Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Ryzhankou met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Kyrgyzstan on July 24.

“The Belarusian side expressed its unwavering support for Iran in defending its national sovereignty, territorial integrity and the inadmissibility of interference in its internal affairs,” the Belarusian Foreign Ministry said.

The sides discussed expanding trade and economic cooperation, coordination on the international stage and reviewed the schedule of upcoming contacts at the highest and high levels.

According to Iran’s Foreign Ministry, Ryzhankou and Araghchi discussed the implementation of previously reached agreements, including cooperation between the two foreign ministries for 2026–2030.

“The foreign ministers of Iran and Belarus also exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments and stressed the need to strengthen multilateralism, counter unilateral coercive measures, and make use of the potential of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation to expand political, economic and trade cooperation between the two countries,” the Iranian Foreign Ministry said.
