An oil refinery belonging to Bashneft-Novoil caught fire in Ufa after a drone attack. Astra reported, citing an analysis of eyewitness photographs conducted by an OSINT analyst.

In his assessment, the L-35 catalytic reforming unit may have caught fire at the facility. It is used to produce a high-octane gasoline component and hydrogen needed to refine motor fuels. The outlet noted that without the stable operation of the unit, the refinery cannot produce modern types of fuel.

Local residents claimed in chat groups that two facilities in Ufa had been attacked. The Ukrainian monitoring channel Exilenova+ also reported several fire sites, believed to be at two oil refineries.

Bashneft-Novoil is part of the Ufa oil refining complex, which is managed by Bashneft, a company owned by Rosneft. Bashneft operates three major oil refineries in Ufa’s Northern Industrial Zone, located virtually adjacent to one another: Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim, Bashneft-Novoil and Bashneft-UNPZ. Together, they form the Ufa oil refining complex, one of the largest in Russia. Its combined processing capacity reaches 23.5 million tonnes of crude oil per year.

Russia’s Defence Ministry said it had intercepted and destroyed 433 Ukrainian drones overnight over 19 regions, including Bashkortostan.

Bryansk region Governor Yegor Kovalchuk reported a drone attack on a private house in the settlement of Klimovo. According to him, a 30-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man were killed, while five others were injured. Another three people were injured in other localities in the region.
