Net Profit in Trade Declined in 2025

Belarusian trade organisations saw a decline in net profit in 2025 amid price regulation, while the number of loss-making enterprises increased by 43.5 percent, according to data published by Belstat.

Revenue of trade organisations included in the report rose by 13.9 percent last year to 168.43 billion roubles. The cost of goods sold increased by 14 percent to 143.26 billion roubles.

Net profit in the trade sector fell by 6.4 percent to 3.54 billion roubles. Sales profitability stood at 1.6 percent, remaining at the level of 2024.

A total of 221 organisations were loss-making by the end of the year, 43.5 percent more than in 2024. Their combined losses increased 2.2 times to 637.7 million roubles.

Accounts payable of trade organisations grew by 43 percent over the year to 31.95 billion roubles. Debt on loans and borrowings decreased by 3.1 percent to 9.09 billion roubles. Accounts receivable increased by 39.8 percent to 24.14 billion roubles.
