NATO Conducts Undisclosed Air Force Exercises In Poland And The Baltics

NATO is conducting undisclosed air force exercises in Poland. Flights are taking place near Russia’s Kaliningrad Region.

As RMF24 reports, since Tuesday, air traffic tracking services have shown unusually high activity by NATO aircraft over Poland, the Baltic states and the Baltic Sea.

NATO has not officially announced the exercises, and in response to a request for comment, Air Force command representatives limited themselves to general statements that the Alliance is constantly improving its defense capabilities.

At the same time, NATO aircraft are flying with their transponders switched on, making them easy to track on air traffic monitoring services.

The flights have involved an E-3A Sentry AWACS airborne surveillance aircraft, a P-8A Poseidon submarine-hunting aircraft, a Polish Air Force Gulfstream G550 reconnaissance and command aircraft, AH-64E Apache Guardian helicopters and an A330 MRTT tanker aircraft, as well as an EA-37B Compass Call II electronic warfare aircraft.

The EA-37B Compass Call II aircraft entered service in August 2024. This is the first time they have been deployed in the Baltic region, including near the Kaliningrad Region.
