The National Bank of Belarus has lowered the values of standard risk calculation indicators for March.

The following values will apply in March:

  • for new fixed-term non-revocable bank deposits of individuals in roubles with a maturity of one to three years — 14.34% per annum (down 0.48 percentage points);
  • for new fixed-term non-revocable bank deposits of individuals in roubles with a maturity of more than three years — 15.31% per annum (down 0.31 percentage points);
  • for new investment loans granted to legal entities (excluding preferential loans) — 11.80% per annum (unchanged);
  • for new loans granted to legal entities (excluding preferential and investment loans) — 12.91% per annum (down 0.15 percentage points);
  • for new loans granted to individuals (excluding preferential loans) — 18.49% per annum (down 0.43 percentage points).

Banks that exceed the standard risk calculation values are required to comply with increased regulatory requirements in the areas of capital adequacy, the formation of special reserves to cover potential losses, and the formation of the mandatory reserve fund. As a result, this indicator indirectly affects the cost of credit in the country.
