The National Bank of Belarus has decided to reduce the calculated standard risk values for June.
The following benchmarks will apply in June:
- for new fixed-term irrevocable bank deposits of individuals in Belarusian roubles with maturities from one to three years — 13.55% per annum (-0.59 percentage points);
- for new fixed-term irrevocable bank deposits of individuals in Belarusian roubles with maturities of more than three years — 14.91% per annum (+0.4 percentage points);
- for new investment loans issued to legal entities (excluding preferential loans) — 11.22% per annum (-0.58 percentage points);
- for new loans issued to legal entities (excluding preferential and investment loans) — 12.26% per annum (-0.54 percentage points);
- for new loans issued to individuals (excluding preferential loans) — 17.96% per annum (-0.3 percentage points).
Banks that exceed the calculated standard risk values are required to comply with stricter regulatory requirements related to capital adequacy, the creation of special reserves to cover potential losses and the formation of mandatory reserve funds. As a result, this indicator indirectly affects the cost of lending in the country.
