An intoxicated woman from Minsk attempted to hijack a taxi after the driver refused to take her as a passenger. The incident was reported by the Minsk City Executive Committee’s Main Directorate of Internal Affairs.
A taxi driver contacted the police and said that an unknown woman had tried to beat him and then got behind the wheel of his car and attempted to drive away.
Investigators later established that a 45-year-old Minsk resident was involved in the incident. At the time it occurred she was intoxicated. According to police, the woman approached the taxi driver while he was finishing charging his electric vehicle and asked for a ride. He refused, explaining that he had already accepted another order.
“The suspect became upset, began hitting the man with her hands and feet, then got into the taxi and started moving. The driver tried to prevent the unlawful actions — he grabbed the door, but the woman continued driving and dragged him along with the vehicle,” the department said.
While reversing, the woman also damaged two other vehicles parked in the courtyard.
It was established that the woman had previously been deprived of her driver’s license for drunk driving.
A criminal case on charges of vehicle hijacking has now been opened against her.
