A Minsk resident has been sentenced to 10 days of administrative detention for taking part in a contest organized by blogger Mellstroy, the press service of the Minsk City Court reported. Earlier, the city police department said several Minsk residents had been held accountable over videos recorded for the contest.
According to the court, the man, identified as D., was charged with petty hooliganism under Article 19.1 of the Administrative Code.
“In court, he explained that on that day he was in a public place with friends when he decided to join blogger Andrei Burim’s contest for a chance to win an apartment. He bought a marker in a store, took off his outer clothing, wrote the blogger’s nickname (MELLSTROY.GAME) on his torso, and, wearing only underwear, jumped into an artificial pond.
His actions were accompanied by loud shouting, arm-waving, and obscene language. The incident was recorded on a mobile phone camera. D. said he made the video hoping the blogger would notice and appreciate it,” the court said.
On October 21, the court sentenced the man to 10 days of administrative arrest. The ruling has not yet entered into legal force and may be appealed or protested in accordance with the law.
