The nominal average monthly salary in Belarus in September amounted to 2,746.4 belarusian rubles (about 695 euros) before income tax, Belstat reported. It decreased by 16 rubles compared with August, when it had already fallen by 9.7 rubles from July.
In real terms, adjusted for inflation, the average salary nationwide rose by 8.6% compared with September last year. In March, the growth rate stood at 11.8%, in April exceeded 10%, in May reached 9.8%, and in June 9.6%. In July, real wage growth slowed to 7.6%, and in August to 8%. Thus, its dynamics continue to be influenced by slower inflation.
In Minsk, the average September salary was 3,620 rubles, up 23.2 rubles over the month. In real terms, the capital’s average rose by 6.6% year-on-year. In the Minsk region, the average exceeded 2,800 rubles, while in the Homel, Brest, and Hrodna regions it surpassed 2,400 rubles. The lowest average was recorded in the Viciebsk region at 2,299 rubles, though it grew by 8.9% in real terms year-on-year.
Workers in passenger air transport continued to lead the salary rankings in September, with an average of 7,625.7 rubles — almost 1,820 rubles lower than in August. Passenger aviation employees have topped the ranking for the third month in a row. The IT sector followed with an average salary of 7,176.8 rubles, and freight air transport ranked third with 6,686.5 rubles.
The lowest wages among industries, according to Belstat, were in hairdressing and beauty salons at 1,489.2 rubles. Museum, library, and archive employees earned 1,692.3 rubles, while social workers received 1,624.2 rubles.
In agriculture, average earnings in crop production were 2,537.1 rubles and in livestock production 2,218.7 rubles. In industry, the average salary was 2,908.1 rubles, including 2,877.2 rubles in manufacturing and 5,089.9 rubles in mining.
In construction, the average pre-tax salary was 3,639.4 rubles, while in retail trade it was 2,228.1 rubles.
In healthcare, the average salary was 2,134.9 rubles, and in education 1,830.8 rubles.
