Minsk City Authorities Announce July 3 Holiday Programme

Minsk has announced its programme of events for July 3, with Independence Day celebrations set to conclude with a fireworks display.

According to Katsiaryna Luchyna, head of the Minsk City Executive Committee’s Culture Department, the main venue near the Palace of Sports will open at noon on July 3. The programme will feature popular Belarusian performers, emerging artists and orchestras, including the Minsk City Police Department Orchestra and the Mikhail Finberg National Academic Concert Orchestra. The venue will remain open until 9:00 p.m.

In the Upper Town, festive events will take place from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and again from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Celebrations are also planned in each district of the capital, with around 20 venues in total.

From 9:00 p.m. until midnight, a gala concert will be held at the “Minsk Hero City” obelisk. The “Let’s Sing the Anthem Together!” event is also scheduled to take place.

The fireworks display is scheduled for 11:00 p.m. and will be launched from six locations: Hugo Chávez Park, Pavlov Park, the embankment in the Drazdy neighbourhood, Victory Park, the Chizhovka Arena site, Kupala Park and the area near the National Library.
