The body of a man described as being of “Arab appearance” has been found on the Belarusian-Latvian border, Belarus’ State Border Committee reported. The body was discovered on June 2 in Braslau District, about 50 meters from the border.
“Border guards identified drag marks leading from the European border fence toward the location where the deceased was found. In addition, the concertina wire that had previously blocked an animal gate had been removed,” the committee said.
Authorities stated that the body showed signs of beatings and the use of a stun gun. No documents or money were found on the deceased.
The Investigative Committee is conducting an inquiry.
