Lukashenka Ratifies Several Visa Waiver Agreements

On November 3, Alyaksandr Lukashenka signed laws ratifying six international agreements with Zimbabwe, Uganda, Guinea-Bissau, Colombia, Laos, and Turkey, his press service reported.

Intergovernmental agreements on visa exemption for holders of diplomatic, official, and service passports were ratified with Zimbabwe, Uganda, and Guinea-Bissau.

With Colombia, Belarus ratified an agreement on the mutual abolition of visas for short-term stays, and with Laos — an agreement on visa-free travel for holders of ordinary passports. Citizens with valid national passports are exempt from obtaining visas for entry, transit, and short-term stays in the respective countries.

Belarus also ratified a protocol amending the 2013 intergovernmental agreement with Turkey on mutual visa exemption. The changes allow drivers and crew members of transport vehicles — citizens of Belarus and Turkey engaged in international cargo and passenger transport — to stay visa-free for up to 90 days within any 180-day period. Previously, this limit was 30 days, but not more than 90 days per year.
