Aliaksandr Lukashenka has sent a congratulatory message to Masoud Pezeshkian, President of Iran, on the 47th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
“Over the period of its existence, Iran has repeatedly gone through serious trials. Recent events have become a test of the maturity of state institutions and the strength of the social contract. The preservation of constitutional order in difficult times testifies to the responsibility of the leadership and the ability of citizens to defend their choice, without allowing external forces to impose an чужая will,” the message states.
Recently, protests in Iran were harshly suppressed. Thousands of people were killed. According to official data published by the Iranian president’s administration, 3,117 people died. Human rights defenders based abroad have reported a significantly higher death toll, exceeding 20,000.
According to Lukashenka’s press service, he stressed that Tehran’s resilience on the international stage commands respect.
“In conditions of regional military escalation and tough confrontation with those who use double standards, Iran continues to move along its own path, demonstrating progress and adherence to traditional spiritual values,” the message says.
It also notes that Masoud Pezeshkian’s visit to Belarus gave fresh impetus to strengthening bilateral relations.
“The talks held confirmed the high level of trust between us, and the agreements reached opened new horizons for expanding bilateral cooperation,” Lukashenka wrote.
