Criminal Case Opened After 33-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed in Lida District

The Lida District Department of the Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case following a crash in Lida District that killed a 33-year-old motorcyclist.

The crash occurred the previous day at around 9:50 p.m. near the village of Hudy. A 42-year-old woman driving a Lada was entering the M-11 highway, “Border of the Republic of Lithuania — Lida — Slonim — Byten,” from a secondary road. She failed to yield to a motorcycle traveling toward Voranava and collided with it. The motorcyclist died in the crash.

An investigative team worked at the scene.

A criminal case has been opened under Part 2 of Article 317 of the Criminal Code concerning violation of traffic rules or the operation of vehicles resulting in a person’s death through negligence.
