Lukashenka Orders State Control Committee and Interior Ministry to Inspect Sports Clubs

Aliaksandr Lukashenka has instructed law enforcement and state auditors to inspect sports clubs. The announcement was made following today’s meeting by Deputy Prime Minister Natallia Piatkevich.

According to her, the State Control Committee had previously conducted an inspection of CJSC Hockey Club Dynama Minsk.

“As a result of the inspection, a number of serious shortcomings were reported, which have not gone unnoticed by the head of state. In this regard, the State Control Committee and the Ministry of Internal Affairs have been instructed to inspect sports clubs across the country.

The purpose is to ensure that funds allocated to sport, including state support funds (that is, targeted funding), are used for sport and not for any other purposes unrelated to sport, including the satisfaction of various operational or business needs,” Piatkevich explained.
