Lukashenka Assures Bastrykin There Are No Differences In Their Assessment Of Factors Shaping Russia And Belarus

Alyaksandr Lukashenka met today with the head of Russia’s Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin. He assured his guest that his position fully coincides with that of the Russian leadership.

“I always regard your visit to Belarus as very important. And our meeting, your visit to me, is not only a courtesy visit, as diplomats say. Although that is also part of it. There are things to discuss, issues to address. We adhere to the same line, the same position.

We have never had differences in assessing either internal or external factors affecting the existence of Russia and Belarus. Therefore, it is very important for me that you stop by, even for a few minutes, so that we can synchronize our watches. For me, I emphasize, this is very important. You are truly not only my friend, but also a friend of our Belarusian people,” he said, according to his press service.

He also noted that he follows the work of the Russian Investigative Committee chief.

“I am very glad that in difficult and challenging times you still manage to keep your system, your structure together and work for the benefit not only of Russia but also of our union, which we are striving to build,” he added.

For his part, Bastrykin told Lukashenka about the purpose of his visit to Minsk. He had already attended the 3rd International Scientific and Practical Conference marking the 77th anniversary of the adoption of the UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide. Another purpose of the visit is a meeting with Belarusian colleagues.

“We will sum up the results of our joint work in 2025 and outline prospects for 2026 to achieve results in our joint efforts in the main strategic areas of cooperation,” he said.
