Lukashenka Approves National Defence Plan Through 2030

At today’s meeting of the Security Council, Alyaksandr Lukashenka approved Belarus’s defence plan for 2026–2030. First Deputy Defence Minister and Chief of the General Staff Pavel Muraveika reported that a corresponding presidential decree is now being prepared.

“The head of state reviewed and approved all documents — our country’s plan of action to ensure military security and national defence. A decree approving the overall defence plan is being prepared for signature,” Muraveika told BelTA.

He added that the document was drafted with consideration for the approaches set out in the National Security Concept and the Military Doctrine. The plan outlines how Belarus will counter emerging threats, deter military conflicts, maintain readiness to repel aggression and ensure the preservation of peace and security on Belarusian territory.
