Large Dental Clinic Chain in Homiel Suspected of Failing to Pay 3.3 Million Rubles in Taxes

The State Control Committee said it had uncovered a tax evasion scheme used by one of the largest dental clinic chains in Homiel. According to the agency, services were provided at two medical centers employing more than 100 people and containing 25 treatment rooms.

The State Financial Control Department of the State Control Committee in the Homiel region, together with tax authorities, established that the owner of the chain had divided its operations between two affiliated companies. One of them used a simplified taxation system. This allowed revenue to be distributed between the companies and tax liabilities to be reduced.

In addition, a significant portion of cash revenue from dental services was not recorded in the accounts. The total amount of funds concealed from taxation exceeded 5 million rubles. According to the State Control Committee, some of the unaccounted revenue was used to pay employees “off the books,” while the owner spent the remaining funds on personal purposes. The total amount of unpaid taxes exceeded 3.3 million rubles.

Criminal cases have been opened against the owner of the chain and officials of the companies. The suspects’ property has been seized.

“They are providing confessions, actively cooperating with investigators and taking measures to compensate for the damage,” the agency said.
