Belarusian State Property Committee Seeks to Sell Shares in Belarusian Sber Bank

The Belarusian State Property Committee plans to sell the state-owned shares in Belarusian Sber Bank. Consideration of the proposal has been included on the agenda of an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders of Belarusian OJSC Sber Bank, which will take place on Sept. 1.

“Consideration of the proposal by the State Property Committee of the Republic of Belarus to sell the ordinary and preferred shares of Sber Bank OJSC owned by the state,” reads item No. 3 on the agenda.

The size of the stake to be sold has not been specified.

The authorized capital of Belarusian Sber Bank is divided into 1.47 billion ordinary shares and 870,800 preferred shares, each with a nominal value of 23 kopecks.

It was previously reported that Russia’s Sber owns 98.43% of the shares in the Belarusian bank.
