Two privately owned companies have had land plots with a total area of about 11 hectares confiscated in the Minsk District following an inspection by the State Control Committee of the Minsk Region.
As reported by the agency, violations of land legislation and cases of improper maintenance were identified on the sites of two former children’s summer camps that had previously been sold to private owners. The plots were littered with waste, the buildings located on them were not in use and continued to deteriorate, and no measures had been taken to restore the sites or bring them into economic use.
The agency said the owners had previously been instructed on multiple occasions to remedy the violations, but failed to take the necessary measures.
At the proposal of the regional State Control Committee, the Minsk District Executive Committee decided to confiscate the land plots.
“Options are being considered to bring these promising recreational areas into the regional economy. The matter remains under review,” the committee said.
